The teaching that Christ died "to pay back what Adam lost" and not for you.
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
many that have come to this forum have left the jws religion and moved on with their lives but from a outsider's viewpoint what do think makes the jws religion wrong or incorrect as a active christian faith ?.
somethings come to mind such as its long continuous end times/armageddon soon doctrine which has really been a core doctrine for decades going right back to its beginning .. maybe they should have adopted the stance as other christian based faiths and adhered to jesus's own words when he said " no one knows of the time not even he ".

even if you disapprove of much about the wt and/or its religion, what aspects do you view most favorably about the wt and/or its religion?
for me one of the things i view most favorably about the wt and its religion is its extremely strong insistence that jws never intentionally kill another human being.
i especially appreciate that regarding those who have been born, but i think some abortions of human embryos might be justifiable.
For me one of the things I view most favorably about the WT and its religion is its extremely strong insistence that JWs never intentionally kill another human being.
For me, this was one of the more troubling of WT doctrines growing up as a 4th gen. JW. Had the Japanese and Germans won WW II, we would have all been enslaved (or sent to gas chambers or ovens) and there would be no freedom....especially for the WT.
In other words, the existence of the WT was dependent on the blood of people they say were breaking God's laws. Yet without soldiers' willingness to kill, no one could hear the WT message to not kill! It made no sense to me as a kid. Contradictions like this drove me nearly insane trying to live as a JW when I was a kid.
1. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. - Romans 13: 4
Many Roman soldiers are favorably mentioned in the bible as men of faith. Cornelius, one of the first gentile Christians, was an active duty Roman army officer.
People have a god-given duty (not to mention common sense duty ) to protect their families, neighbors and countries, and if need be to use lethal force.
2. "he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one" - Jesus at Luke 22: 36
It's scriptural, and just plain common sense. Something JW's are not known for.
This unbiblical teaching feeds their phony sense of moral superiority while masking cowardice... something that JW's ARE known for.
Never fell for it as a kid..... saw right through it.
it's pretty easy to see how current events would have any jw convinced the end is imminent, but i just don't see how there could be a major push for zealous service, pioneering, etc.
decades into the future.
even if (when) world events happen periodically that could scare the r&f, there are now countless hours of hd video of jw leaders saying how close the end is.
Of course. Moe, Larry and Curly will smite you if you don't pick up the pace. Just look at that fist Larry makes with his left hand. All the people that made fun of his drinking problem are going to be sorry now!
can anyone remember the reasoning the watchtower gave for jesus speaking these words?
if you have a reference that would be even better!.
Thanks FF Ghost!
Wow, the Wt. "guesses" are atrocious. Every saved Christian knows this answer because it verifies the reason WHY THEY ARE SAVED.
It is probably the most beautiful scripture in all the bible:
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor. 5: 21
A just, righteous and holy God has no fellowship with sin. When God made Jesus to actually be sin, he was forced to abandon him so he could die.
This is a scripture you will not hear at the KH and is the one teaching buried the deepest under WT clap trap to hide it because this is the central feature of the exchange offered to "whosoever" in the New Covenant - Jesus becomes your sin, and You get clothed with the righteousness and perfection of Jesus.
Jesus trades places with each person....who wants it.
Your abandonment / estrangement from God in exchange for sonship.
I took the deal. It is a very good deal with little downside in the overall scheme of things.
the universe came into being 13.8 billion years ago in the big bang.
after an initial flash, it went through a period known as the cosmic dark ages.
according to a new study, probing cosmic dawn, 250 to 350 million years after the big bang the first stars emerged bringing light to the cosmos.
Surtsy Island didn't exist before 1963.

And then there was land:
This island near Iceland is bursting with wildlife...... birds, spiders, plants, etc.
Anyone want to take a guess how old this island is?
hello.. i remember some time ago someone brought up a letter to congregations or some other similar instruction, instructing the elders to "contact the authorities immediately" if something like a robbery or trouble came upon a kingdom hall.. does anyone remember that?
and what was the source of that instruction please?

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE IF AN INCIDENT INVOLVES PROPERTY DAMAGE?
17. When property damage occurs, quick action can go far in preventing further damage. Take the following steps:
Appoint a qualified elder to take the lead in managing the situation.
Protect the property from further damage, loss, or break-in. Leaks must be re-paired promptly and all excess moisture removed immediately. The use of our volunteers can save valuable funds.
Promptly report break-ins, thefts, and vandalism to the police. Then call the Risk Management Desk in the Accounting Department for further assistance.
In case of major damage, call the Risk Management Desk for further assistance. The Local Design/Construction Department can also be of assistance.

I agree that expansion implies "a beginning". But, beginning of what?
Redshift could easily be interpreted that our galaxy is near the center of the universe. But, that view is virtually ritually rejected by atheist observers on philosophical grounds, not science. The reason they don't like it is obvious, it does not favor a random position that a BB model would predict.
- Edwin Hubble: As patron saint of atheist cosmologists, in. his 1936 classic, The Observational Approach to Cosmology, Hubble admits that it is philosophy and not observational science that leads him to believe that the universe has no center. Summing up his pages 50-59, creationist astrophysicist John Hartnett writes: "[W]hat Edwin Hubble concluded [was that] his observations of the galaxies’ redshifts indicated to him that we are at the center of a symmetric matter distribution. But Hubble rejected his own conclusion—that we are in a very special place—on philosophical grounds." For example:
"Such a condition would imply that we occupy a unique position in the universe, analogous, in a sense, to the ancient conception of a central earth. The hypothesis cannot be disproved but it is unwelcome..." Regarding the possibility that "the observer [is] in a unique position [this] unwelcome supposition of a favoured location must be avoided at all costs. Therefore, we accept the uniform distribution..." -Edwin Hubble, author of, ehem, The Observational Approach to Cosmology ;)

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey Image of Galaxies, (each pixel is equal to one galaxy) doesn't look like the result of a BB to me. Where are the random radial arms? Light a firecracker in the sand and see them for yourself. Explosions just look different.... an explosion certainly would not create concentric circles of galaxies around the center of the explosion seen below.
do you think he could get reinstated as president?
do you think trump will run again for president or do you think he will just be a force for the republican party behind the scenes?.
He conducted his first rally today since the election. It was in Ohio. Everyone had "Save America" signs.
I have mentally checked out of politics since the election. He brought up a lot of things that needs to be dealt with and got me to thinking about issues again. He looked like he dropped 20 lbs. and was as energetic as ever.
He has done a great service in promoting conservative principles' belief that people can better themselves through education and hard work. The liberalism derives power from victims and dependency.
He was as honest and edgy as he ever was. I think he will run again for sure after listening to him tonight.
I think DeSantis may run as well.

Please post back here if you find it. Would be a great comparison!
